When the leader decided to step down, she asked me to take over the group. Immediately, I questioned my ability to do it. I was scared and kept telling myself I was not prepared. Because of my own life issues, I was uncertain that I could lead a group of women in navigating theirs.
I recall praying for days, telling God the same things I was telling myself. When I finally stopped fretting, God told me it was what He was calling me to do and reminded me that He was with me. I found encouragement in that and agreed to become the life group leader. When God calls us to a place, we have to be confident, not in ourselves, but in the One who is calling us. Concentrating on what we feel we aren’t and what we think we don’t have makes us hesitant to step into where God is calling us to be.
